Sungei Buloh New Extension

Long Labour Day Weekend. Mum decided to start on her list of places to visit which includes places like Sungei Buloh, Kranji Farm, Chek Jawa etc....

Checked the weather forecast. Its going to rain next 2 days. But cloudy on Friday 1 May. Shall visit Sungei Buloh New Extension that I've read so much about on other blogs.

One of the main reasons is to get my two sons into "Nature". They've been playing too much iPads, watching TV. Joshua is not exactly an outdoor person and me and hubby are hoping to get him more exposed to nature and getting dirty and stuff like that.

Surprisingly, it wasn't exactly very crowded although it's a public holiday. We parked at the New Extension Carpark and proceed to do our usual business of visiting the toilet first before entering the reserve.

One thing to take note of: The female toilet was really choked up. It was quite gross actually. Think the sewage got stuck or something. Most of the cubicles had the water overflowing except for 2 cubicles.

We finally entered the reserve.... First feeling.. very peaceful. I was expecting more rough terrain but guess it has to be stroller and wheelchair friendly.

Some fruits that we saw along the way.

Lucas having fun with the umbrella

The first "pod" that we saw. Fantail Pod

                                                             Just look at Joshua's face!

                                                             Lucas with his favourite pose!

                                                                      Simply beautiful...

Saw the tree climbing crabs. They're like everywhere.

                                                          Watch out for CROCODILES?!

More tree climbing crabs! Told you they're like everywhere.

Lucas is too tired to walk. Wants bao bao from mum.

My brave little one managed to walk the mud wetlands bridge by himself.

Family Pic taken with selfie stick.

Final verdict about Sungei Buloh: It was fun. The boys got to get a dose of nature without an overdose. Looking forward to exploring the old Sungei Buloh in the future!
